So as most of you know from my posts EVERYWHERE! I have had a leak in my mini for almost a month now. I resealed it, I replaced burst discs 3 times, I soaped it and tested it som many times, I was at my wits end. Then I decided SCREW IT. It was time to dunk it. So but by bit, I put the various parts of the tube in water and looked for bubbles. Lo and behold, it was my damn reg gauge this whole time! Right out of the vent hole in the back of the gauge.

I promptly called Shane at AOA and explained my leak, and he asked if my gauge had a purple spacer. It does, to which he claimed they’re the older gauges that did have leak issues. I bought a new reg and tube gauge for the blistering cost of $60 for the pair, and I’ll be finally back up and running.

This goes to show guys, sometimes, soap and whatever other methods just can’t come close to the power of water!

Check your gauges y’all!!!

Did these water drops come from the inside of the gun? That aluminum (dent) is no match for a concrete floor.View attachment 2364
Those aren’t water droplets, it’s krytox lube. It’s much more fluid that the ultimox grease. I ordered the ultimox grease anyway, but this is the leftover krytox.
They were definitely not light handed with this reg!

I’ll give you credit for having the balls to do the dunk. I have a slow leaker on one rifle and I’m afraid to do the dunk. What if it isn’t the gauge and water gets into the gauges air hole. That would be a real pain to dry out.

Would it be safe to dip in 99% alcohol. At least I know it would all evaporate.

Invest in some "Snoop" look it up. It's meant for leak detection. Imo every airhead should have a bottle.

Gauges are cheap. There’s nothing else on there really that can be harmed. I didn’t dunk the barrel, breech or trigger group. Just stuff on the tube.
