okay here we go heres some of my thoughts
if you shooting a pump gun or maybe aspringer you migt want to be thinking maybe 10 yards.
but for For pcps i think you could easily swing 20 yards, i would like to see longer but thats in your ball park some dont have the luxery long range shots so do what you can if that ten yards in your basment do it.
i wuld love to see longer range shoot so some thoughts on that in a second.
Use a small pumpkin that would be my recommendation
or shooters can have a choice of a paper target for those who might be too young or too old and lack the ability to get to a store to find a pumpkin.
ther is a df i drew up last year yo can down load it is a stickied thread
i think we will stick with last years voting system
the community will serve as one vote and we will have two moderators offering one vote each.
voting will be in three categories.
1 difficulty (here is where the longer range shots can come into play)
2 artistry
3 presentation
Difficulty - someone shooting a pcp rifle at 10 yards will have suffered less of a challenge versus a shooter shooting a pistol at 100 yards.
Artistry - just how good does it look.
Presentation - how well is it presented to be judged. Is it back lit in dark surroundings? (I would recommend participants do this). Was there any effort placed in the presentation please do.
Each of the 3 classes can get up to 5 points for a total of 15 from an individual voter.
Votes will be averaged the points based upon the number of voters to get our total possibility of 15 points by the community.
Then each of the two moderators will offer judging with the same guidelines for 15 points from each judge.
The community will have 15 possible points total and the two moderators would have 15 each for a total possiblety of 45 points.
The most points get first place, then the next most points gets second place and so on.
i will have a thread that allows everyone to post their pumpkin pictures please show the gun and range if possible, at least the gun and state the gun, scope, pellet and distance.
As to the start date we are thinking the first part of oct.
we will anounce it soon!
Voting would start shortly after the close. A new thread for voting will be started.
We have some venders that will be offering some gifts to the winners this the will have a thread to post in so lets leave that thread for those folks please.
as in the past this is going to be a blast! those that have perticipae will atest to that : )
