Took out my gen 1 Gauntlet today. I haven't shot it for a while and it didn't (and never has) lose any air and the first shot was dead on target at 95y out my door. It is just a very easy gun to shoot well with. I have been wanting to service it because it has been years and at least 20 tins of pellets since I've touched it, but it keeps proving to me that it doesn't need it. I won't fix what isn't broke but I am ready to, as this gun has really earned it's place with me. A definate win, and a real confidence booster, that always amazes me and brings a smile for what was just supposed to be a starter pcp that wouldn't last. Can't prove that by me.

I have thought the exact thing. Probably same cost as a .30 barrel and mag for my Ghost! Is it a .22 @Pumacarl ...and is it all stock?
Well Danman, I've gotta tell you, I don't leave much alone. No, it isn't stock. I put in a Hill hammer spring, opened ports, smoothed out this and that, turned up the reg a little( shimming the Ninja), carbon fiber bottle kind of stuff, paint too. It is the factory barrel and I did nothing to it (outside of cleaning it) or even the crown, because it shot great from the start. It shoots JSB 18.13gr pellets at 890fps. I got it when it first came out and I have about 30K down the tube with just about zero problems except for one that was my fault. I bent a sear spring removing it and messed it up. I only fully re-sealed it once, and that was years ago.

One of my most reliable 25 caliber pcp rifles as well. Even after 1000 plus rounds it just keeps working. I'm glad you got a good one too!

I love hearing how solid these are! Im hoping mine is equally as stout!

I got the sl30 in a trade for my gammo swarm 8x.

So far, I've picked up the .7l bottle and huben Blackhawk cricket, cleaned it, aired it, and set the reg to 3k, and have been very very impressed by the 21 slugs I've put out of it. Zans for now. I have to slug the barrel, and polish it for real.

I have some heavy griffin boat tails coming for it, and just dressed it up thanks to buck rail and hajimoto too!

That was a great trade brother! I've been looking to trade for a SL30 myself as it's easier to cock than the customized G2 30 caliber rifle I have. It has a TJs barrel on it and 580cc bottle and a 3000psi regulator and a XL Hush silencer from Terminador Industries. Also for glass has a Discovery Beast scope with side focus and illuminated center dot retical 24 power too really reach out and touch the prey. Customized stock printed to really keep some of the weight down as well. Trigger is set at 1.5 pounds. Still weighs 11 pounds dressed out with all the above attached but if you can hold it up and do your part the critter will go down! The tree branches help the holding up part. 😆

I just shot my Gauntlet yesterday, still Aces! I just know some oring is going to fail somewhere soon, but this gun has been very solid for me. I complained about the length a lot but I was wrong to have done so. It is very easy to shoot well off hand and the ergonomics of the Gen 1 stock, in front of the trigger, make the gun easy to carry and hold. There are a lot of inexpensive +/- 32fpe airguns out now that I would not trade this one for, that's for sure.

How are you liking the terminator? I have an airgun capital, and it does very well in tone change, but still pretty audible compared to my z and its buck rail.

It could be the 3k reg pressure, and the grain weight im pushing, im sure, but id like a touch less on the audible. Ill see how it does with the g 78g boat tails.

The .7 l certainly, certainly indeed makes a nose heavy. But 1 aim able for free hand. Im most certainly getting a set of pods for field shots, and bi pods for when im just farm crusing.

I just transfered over my zulus to this, because, well, smack down vids are tons of fun.

I haven't really dug into this one yet. Just starting on some zeroing at 50/75 with a bit heavier slugs. Its plenty on power, a crow at 90 can attest to that, but id like to be taking this and my z to most permissions. The z is more than capable for most farm pests, but this is going to be my extreme distance/yote pcp.

I thought it was an insane trade myself, but my buddy bought it, no hush hush tube, and expected it to be as quiet as the swarm I've been letting him borrow. So one sherif visit later, I got a text of 'want to trade pellet guns?'🤣🤣🤣

That is one thing I saw, the ergonomics on the gen 1 looked sooooo much better than the gen two.

I shot the stock skins for one mag, went 'f*** this' and had to find something more usable. Im not going to want to shoot an uncomfortable hand/wrist feel pcp. And for me personally, it wasn't a length issue/weight issue, but a 100% comfort factor. The haji/buck rail skin, let's me get my repeatable hold point grab with its m-lok slots(a nod to shooting the swarm so much, needing the exact same hold every shot) without feeling the need of over twisting my extended arm wrist. If that makes sense.

Is it perfect, no. Is it better than the gen two skins? For me yes. I will be pulling the br mod stock off for a more lop adjustable stock with tube, but it does very well

The Terminador mods are great as I have one on my G2 Gauntlet 30 and the Hush mod I've been moving around trying on my Snowpeak M25 25 caliber rifle and both are working well. I've got some Airgun Capital mods the fat 30 caliber and the regular in 25 and they are louder than my other mods but as you mentioned they lower the tone but not as quiet as the Hush mod. Hush mod is half of what the Airgun Capital costs so I recommend it highly. You might need a 30 cal to keep it from clipping as well.

You got the good end of that deal bro! Congrats.

Everyone seems to complain about getting accuracy from slugs vs. w/pellets, but I think that the biggest mystery in this hobby is which moderator to get. There just doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason and you have to end up trying everything you've got. The 'size up' thing is good advice too, until you find out just how much quieter going as small as you can go is. The good news is that I think slugs clip less. My 250z hasn't clipped yet and I only shoot slugs and it is a matching caliber moderator. And going bigger might pevent clipping but sometimes the gun still doesn't like what's going on with a big can either. The only moderator that degraded accuracy considerably in my .22 250z was my .30 Ronin, which before that moment was always my quietest, and least detrimental to accuracy, moderator. Go figure. This topic will never get old.

It's a never ending debate the switching of the moderators in different calibers. I have 16 different ones in all calibers and all perform different on the separate rifles I use. It's amazing how each one reacts to the air turbulence exiting the barrel!

Totally agree with this. My .25 z, is an absolute ringer with the .25 cal br mod.

I did get clipping running the crown magnum out of it. But zero with slugs.

I will be grouping the .30 cal airgun capital on my .25 z to see what happens, but if I like the shoosh factor there, and accuracy is still dime size at .75, I'll be looking into their .250 size moderator for sure.

I know I am going to attempt the fatboy 2.0 with muzzle break on my sl30, and the br .30 modular mod. Im trying to find a good city limit friendly mod for it is all. The z and buck is totally that, but my reg is lower, so I know the air escape helps with its tone, and moderators function for sure.

Staying quiet and stealthy is what it's all about. Accuracy is the plus too!

They have to be both, accurate and quiet. The least thing that I want to get is anybody's attention, above all else.
I got the luxury of a quick drive where being super quiet isn't needed, but the option of exploring silent off the balcony getting the occasional rat i see scurrying by the dumpster. 🤣 id still say for me, accuracy is my number one requirement. I always feel so dang bad when the first shot doesnt do it.
