Which oring on the reg would make it creep really bad? Like from 150-200bar?

I’m going to do a full oring replacement, but would like to know which ones I should pay close attention to when taking apart to make sure it’s not a reg mechanical issue instead of an oring issue.

Thanks.

The regulator's angled valve seat and the internal poly o-rings hold back the pressure from going into the plenum. Because of the potential age of your Evol, it would be best to remove and clean all the parts and replace the o-rings in it. It probably just has micro debris or an o-ring's integrity has broken down causing the creep.

Here's a great video explanation of everything from Dana and Tom.

I'd bet good money it is just a bad oring. Reseal and problem solved. The AAA reg is an awesome unit compared to anything else I have seen.

I am going to speculate here, and I have nothing to base it on besides one experience with this gun. Until very recently, this gun is the only airgun that I have used that I use a different lube on (ultimox) and it is the only gun where some orings on my reg looked like they had toenail fungus. I wonder if there is something in that stuff that decreases the lifespan of the oring. Once I changed out the orings all was good again but that was the soonest that I ever did a reseal too. I could have just originally had a bad oring, too little data for now to draw a conclusion but I am just mentioning it for consideration. How often is everyone resealing their guns? I usually don't even think about it for 2 years, I have some guns that have gone 5.

It is the nature of the type of material that the o-rings are made from to have them breaking down or growing things like they are (growing fungus as you put it) with certain lubes. It is not a fault of the manufacturer or anything. I've seen it in several different applications in diffent guns using the same o-ring materials, but using different manufacturer's type of lube that has the same PTFE ingredient. For example, because both Ultimox and Krytox use greases are based on perfluoropolyether (PFPE) oils, so the common PTFE is probably doing the reacting with the white polyester-based o-ring.

It sure is a nice looking regulator as well! Very cool.

I'll tend to change orings every year or 2 just as precaution. Though I haven't messed with the internal reg orings on my Mini at all. I've owned it 3 years and probably a year old once I got it from the previous owner. Probably will do it before spring comes though and change the internal orings.

Only guns I havent changed orings in are my Taipans. Those guns just rarely ever seem to leak. But yeah the poly oring on the fill port on mine also got that toenail fungus look.
