In our second report from Extreme Benchrest 2024, we spotted a previously-unseen, secret Daystate air rifle. It was being shot in the 75-Yard Extreme Benchrest Card One.
This new Daystate air rifle could actually be a BRK (formerly Brocock) prototype. Or it could actually be a forthcoming Daystate-branded model.
Nothing was being revealed and the gun was shot disguised with camouflage wrapping to confuse observers. EBR has been used once in the past for such a clandestine outing for a new Daystate or BRK model. That was in 2022. In fact, that gun turned-out to be the future BRK Ghost.
So, what can we say about this secret new airgun?
Well, we can make some comments based on what we saw. As follows…
Secret Daystate Air Rifle – 1
This is a long air rifle! It has a prominent, long, thin HPA tank, together with along forearm under the tank.
These characteristics would tend to indicate that this could be a dedicated benchrest air rifle. If so, that would be news as Daystate has not had a gun of this type before.
Secret Daystate Air Rifle – 2
It’s a full-length air rifle, not a bullpup. That could mean that it’s a replacement for the Daystate Wolverine, or possibly the Red Wolf, as they are among the older models in the company’s range.
There’s a strange triangular cutout in the stock on both sides above and ahead of the trigger, as you can see. What’s that for? Dunno!
Secret Daystate Air Rifle – 3
There’s a “club like” end to the buttstock. This was covered by the camouflage tape. That makes one think that it has a Delta Wolf-type touchscreen there, and thus that it’s an electronically-controlled air rifle.
We can also see that the breech has a typical, high magazine position, common to many Daystate guns. There’s a side lever action, as we can see. So it’s not a semi-auto.
Secret Daystate Air Rifle – 4
There’s a ambidextrous safety positioned directly above the trigger.
New Daystate Air Rifle – 4
It seems to shoot! Chris looked very happy with the results!
HAM will bring you more as we find it out…
