The weather is full hot now so it is time to stop putting off painting. Once again, I have no idea what I'm going to do, just that I am going to do something. I put the paint on really light anyway, I don't want it to last, just change it up for a while. I am doing my TalonP, and will re-hit my 250z(maybe) along with the 0dB moderator and the scope. I have never painted a scope before, but it's time to just say the hell with it. I can't move my scope around from the 250z because of the off spacing of the two piece picatinny rail, so it's tied to that gun anyway. For the TalonP I decided that I am going to take off the Nikon 3x, which isn't really enough scope for how accurate the gun is, and put on my Discovery 2-12xHD.
I got really lucky with how good the 250z came out the first time, and I doubt the TalonP will look near that good, but it's something to try. It's a little bit crazy, but I don't decide things until the last second, if I try to plan out something that takes any kind of artistry, it always fails huge, unless I practice a lot, which I'm not going to do in this case either. I'm just screwing around.
Since the TalonP will be my truck gun, I want the asphalt color mostly, so I am going with a gray primer base. I will hit some parts with a light green and maybe a third lighter color. I am trying to come up with a way to minimize the crazy look of the angles and points on the frame using color. For that reason, I will leave the gun assembled, on the tripod, in the sun, when I paint it.
I will post pics of the results this weekend.
