I’m thinking of buying a Pinty Buster pistol and making a folding/sliding stock for it. I’m out of scopes/sights. I was thinking if just including one of the cheap Pinty 4–in1 scopes for it. It’s just going to be a fun project gun. Any thoughts, I’m not going to put a $150 plus scope on it. I’ve also thought about just putting a cheap reflex sight on it? Thoughts?

Late to this, and not sure how I missed it, but I have a hate hate relationship with my 4-16x 3-in-1 Pinty scope. The glass is clear, the illuminated reticle worked well although I typically didn't use it unless shooting at black targets. My problem is that sunlight would cause the scope to heat up and shift POI by feet at 25 yards. It didn't even have to be hot out, direct sunlight for a few minutes in even 60 degree weather was enough to cause the problem.

I am giving their optics another try with a pair of 3-12x44 AO scopes that I picked up for half their retail price, but that is only because my dad's has been great. I thought my brother's was doing the same as mine, but discovered it was a rail problem that has been corrected now. I haven't had non-winter conditions to test it in yet.

My favorite budget scope to this day is my first one. UUQ 3-9x40 AOEG scope with etched glass and AO settings have been spot on for me. If these new Pinty scopes disappoint me, that is what is going on my Timber for probably the rest of time.

It's fixed power, but I have this one on my Jet 1 and I love it.

My hated pinty scope is 4-12, not 4-16... oops.

I have now mounted the 3-12 with monstrum rings that came in today. Sight box is good, even at 12x. Clear through all ranges of zoom, side AO seems to work well. Sunset/dinner arrived before I could try to even rough sight it, so more to follow. Plus the need to see how it does through temperature changes.

I feel like even made into a carbine the scope would look long on the Buster.
