Others Pellet/Slug inventory? Do you keep one?

Last edited:
I keep a spreadsheet as well. I have all my pellets inventoried and in a spreadsheet sorted by weight. Separate pages for .177, .22 and .25 caliber. Here's a sample:

Then I took it a step further and started to test each gun with each pellet and take a picture of the target and attach the picture to the sheet along with a rating of how we did. WE being me, the pellet and the gun lol
I modified the spreadsheet for viewing purposes but here is basically what it looks like:

When I click on the "rating" it'll bring up the picture of the target and pellet:

I have way too many different pellets in 177, 22 and 25 so I have a lot of sorting / testing to do to thin out the herd. My 25 collection is much more under control. The idea is to find and keep only the Excellent pellets but still keep the list in tact so that I know not to purchase a previously tested pellet that didn't perform.

I'll have to check out the Portable Inventory app that @PasadenaMike pointed out too!! I'm sure there would be advantages to having the inventory on my phone!

Mike,

you have a way of making people feel right at home.

Thanks, 😃

Matthias
Brother this hobby and the people in it are very special to me. I’ve met and spoken to the nicest people all sharing the same passion. You don’t find that anywhere. I’d never want anyone to feel judged. I have something like 100,000 pellets combined . For what ? I don’t know 🤷‍♂️ but that’s ok .

Yea man, no judgement here. I have around 50,000 pellets and slugs and I thought that was a lot! So what did I literally just do? Purchased more pellets! Lol

Yeah, I like that attitude, Mike, we have a special community (nonwithstanding the ever present rotten apples).

Well, with all this pellet talk — I finally unpacked my suitcase from my US trip — to get to my new .25cal goodies:

Baracuda Hunter
Crow Magnum
Hybrids
Eun Jin (Seneca) semi-wadcutter 35.80gr

And in .22cal:
JTS 18.80gr Wadcutter

My total projectile count is a fraction of what's been mentioned above — but I'm trying to faithfully follow your good example to stock up.... 😆
It's just that a 500 tin JSBs costs OVER 50% MORE IN PERU..... 😵

And we get about 10% of the variety of pellets that are offered in the US.
Slugs? KnockOuts are the only quality option....

To bring pellets/slugs to Peru I need to file a slew of paper work — no guarantee if it gets approved....

If this decade is the Golden Age of airgunning — then the US are the Golden Palace of airgunning. 😃

Why don’t you cast your own?

➠ I looked into it. Honestly!
🔸 I need precisión ➠ so swaging is it.
A Corbin setup would run me roughly $1500. Ouch!

🔸 And I want different shapes (HP, domes, slugs, different weights for different powered guns, etc.) ➠ so I'd need lots of dies/molds.
More $$$. 😞

🔸 Even if it's just for "bb guns" — "making" ammo in Peru requires a license — like you're a factory.
You can unlikely imagine the bureaucratic nightmare that would entail — nothing to say of the exhorbitant costs and safety precautions required.

🔸Peru has one tiny factory that makes pellets — the quality of the image below mirrors the quality of the pellets.... Just because it says "Precision Pellets" doesn't make them so..... 😆
Depicted is their only dome in .22 (15.4gr).

Oh I see . Then the best option is just brining it in from somewhere else
