Well new to me.
Today I was gifted two pistols.
One being this Benjamin-Sheridan H9 Series
in .177 cal.
I know nothing about these, so any input would be appreciated.
Other than one small scuff, it looks brand new.
I only pumped it up two pumps one time and it was smooth and went bang. I'll clean and lube tomorrow and try it again.

Well, I cleaned and lubed it up.
The bore was kinda brown, but not rust.
Cleaned with Hoppes #9, followed by Kroil.
Then lubed with pelletgun oil. Still some trace of brown but I'll bet it is packing grease residue as I don't think it was ever shot.
Pumped it up to 5 pumps for about 10 shots.
Works perfect 😎
This is the first really nice air pistol I have owned.
It is built solid and all steel.

Nice pistol

The barrels and valves on the H9 and other older Benjamin and Sheridan rifles and pistols like the Benjamin 392/7 multi pump rifles and the Sheridan EB co2 pistols are made of brass or bronze alloys. I personally would not use Hoppes no. 9 on it as it is a copper solvent and may damage the barrel and internal components like the brass valve if used regularly. Hoppes no. 9 just shouldn’t be used for air gun cleaning in general. It will also destroy any rubber parts and seals like orings. Ballistol would be a much safer cleaner for your air guns.
