In the last couple of weeks, my progression on getting my beloved Dreamline in shape for HFT has hit the fast lane. While I was going to be in NC for a week and a half I decided to forgo letting any of the carriers potentially lose or destroy my prized possession. After all, UPS broke the stock on it when it was shipped to me from CT. It was not due to shotty packaging either. It was their careless handling. I digress however.
Seeing how I was heading for Reaford, NC I looked up Cape Fear Airguns and thought
, heck yah! Hey I can drive them out to him on the following morning. Them? Yes, I took my Dreamline in for a reseal and new valve and seat. I also took my M3 in to have both regulators replaced with the HUMA regs I had purchased just a couple weeks before hand. I contacted Newman a week prior and set it all up. A great guy to deal with, and it frankly put my mind at ease turning them over to him.
The guns were completed that same day!!!
. They sat in his shop for two days under leak down and reg creep supervision. None of the gauges moved even a little bit.
The journey home to PA was uneventful and yesterday I was able to get my Dreamline tuned for 10.3 gr AEA pellets pretty easily. I admit freely that I sometimes struggle to get a tune that I am happy with. ……a little more HST might work….. oh man that didn’t do it, ok a little less…… how about even more HST….. more reg? Damn….. less reg!!!!!

. This was not the case this time
.
I’m happy with this tune and the 25ish yard groups she printed. 10 shots inside a dime, will do very well for me. No need to screw with it from here.
Now it’s time to lay out my 10-55 yard range and get a side wheel dialed in.
The tune is:
500 mm .177 STX Superior
10.3 gr AEA pellets
100 bar +\- a smidge on the regulator
Hammer Spring? Couldn’t tell ya how far in it’s set…. She’s good
.
876 fps average @17.5 ftlbs
I haven’t done a shot string to see how many shots I will get from a fill, but I will. I am hoping for at least 40 shots but I don’t think I’ll get 60 so a refill on the course will most likely be needed.
