This 4th of July weekend started with a very good bang. A friend of mine reached out to me last night for some advice on his first ever pcp, an AGT Vixen 2 Long in .25 cal. I told him I have zero experience with this platform but I gave home some pointers on not shooting below the reg pressure, setting up a fill source and how to help extend the life of his compressor. Filling the gun and pellet choices and sourcing.

He ended up bringing the gun to my home in PA from his in NY, where I was able to see my first AGT product. Man!!! I gotta say, I’m am quite impressed.

The gun came by way of Talon Airguns, and it arrived shooting the JSB 33.95’s at a nice 864 fps and very nice 2 fps STD Dev over a 10 shot string. Tony did a fine job setting this beauty up for my friend.

The gun is also topped with an ATN Thor 5 something or other lol. It was my first time ever working with a thermal sight which made sighting in a bit different for me as I had to learn the system. That was a pretty easy segment of the morning. Did I learn the entire optic? Not even close, but I was able to learn how to zero it and use the range finder. So I could employ it if I had to.

In the end, I can ABSOLUTELY see why those that love the AGT’s are so loyal. This is a fine shooting piece of craftsmanship that I’ve been told many times once it’s set, you don’t have to screw with it and that my friends is very very appealing to me. I could absolutely see a Vixen 2 in my collection. This .25 is pretty impressive. A very solid feeling gun in every way. Crisp trigger, really nice side lever cocking. It’s not buttery like my FX. But it’s no less quality feeling. Even without a moderator, it’s not loud by any stretch. The biggest issue I would have with it, is with my eyes, the pressure gauge is very small, but that’s why they made smart phones and the great cameras in em right? 🤷🏻‍♂️🧐🤣. A vendetta with a fox will soon be settled.

I tried to include a video of Joe enjoying the Vixen with a firebird after our work was done but I can’t figure out how to attach it. It didn’t even come up as an attachable file. I’ll see if I can put it in the comments.
