Down to 2̶ ok now 3 PCPs 😱

I understand what you're going for and where you ended up. I'm not quite there yet, I still want a magazine and at least five shots or so. I just don't want to be fumbling around when I need a second shot, which happens more often these days. I was hoping that AAA was going to keep simplifying the Evol Paradigm, but it seems he's into adding to it now. That's where the market is for sure. I can't rule out what I don't know about yet though.

I feel ya. I’m down to zero… just how it worked out. Lately just patiently waiting for something new to try. Haven’t been super happy the last couple years with what I have tried. Had some very good rifles, but not what I am looking for and have had a few I’ve been super disappointed with.

Just sold off my classic Edgun and atomic to have just the simplest of all PCPs remain the Condor ss and Talon P. They will work for me just fine. Both in .25. If I didn’t mind the recoil I’d honestly get a springer and call it a day but the recoil bothers me on springers.
My double kill on two starlings at 25 yards today with my Atomic, recorded through the Arken Zulus. Reminded me yet again why I love the lil beast. That I hand pumped it to full for the outing, simply sweet. While the other BRKs get more attention. I feel the Atomic is in a league of its own…🙏

Hold on. Down to zero? What are you looking for exactly, that even keeping just one of your very good rifles, wasn't worth doing? This might be something that I don't know about, that I might want one too. Though I doubt seriously that I would get rid of everything because I couldn't get one elusive thing.

I totally get it. Having a magazine is nice, but not essential, and to be honest I had a .22 lr custom built as a single shot so as to not have to deal with mag issues. Another one of my faves is a single shot by original design. There is a sense of contentment that is experienced when you simplify as much as practically possible.

It isn’t like that. I haven’t had an amazing rifle in several years. I sold my Thomas because I wasn’t shooting Field Target anymore and it felt like a major waste of money to leave it with its Kahles in the safe. My FX Crown was probably the other best rifle I have had, but sold it to try something else, but I don’t really remember what at this point. I have always tried 2-3 new rifles minimum per year.
Since selling my Crown, I have lost count of the different things I have tried, several of which were to just try something new or something that “felt” better or fit a task better. At this point, I have just sold off faster than I have purchased.

Tried another Impact, used, and it was not good, reg problems. Tried a Ghost finally and really didn’t like it. Reminded me of the platform things I didn’t like about the Impact, no reg problem, but just didn’t care for the platform and the trigger is bad. Tried an Epoch and actually liked it well, but just sold it because I wasn’t shooting it much. Sold off a TX200 I wasn’t shooting. Picked up a Prophet I that shot great, but I couldn’t bring myself to like it with the magazine/probe right at my face. Tried a Delta Wolf and it was not up to expectations that I had built up for years, and again have decided that I’m not the biggest fan of that platform like the Ghost and Impact. Just had a Skout Evo, but I guess I minded the leaks that it had more than others, even if they say that is the way it should operate.

At this point, I think I want to try something I have never tried instead of going back to something I have tried.

I prefer rifle platform vs bullpup, but mostly because of the ease of setup, so that is what I’m looking for now. I have never tried an Evol, but am getting a little tired of waiting, and I’m also getting tired of buying used. The best rifles I’ve owned were brand new, setup perfectly by the retailer. The new Daystate has my eye as well, but only if it is in a chassis.

So lots going on, trying to narrow down what I like most. Also trying to narrow down and pick up the right tools for the right duties, instead of trying to make a rifle work for different purposes.

Congrats on the double kill brother. I hope you went and bought a lottery ticket after that!

Thanks for the very thoughtful reply. I get what your saying about bullpups too. I love their size, but I just like shooting regular rifles better. Even with all the choices we have, we could actually use more. My quest is for simple, but premium, quality, a true as good as a firearm, long lasting airgun. AAA is the closest one I've found. I just wish a more conventional light weight, non-pistol grip (or even thumbhole for that matter) was offered. Something light, tough, synthetic, and compact, not: bulky, bench, uber-adjustable, or even beautiful wood. Something that works and is built for work, not to be stared at, or fiddled with. I'm still hoping the pendulum swings that way. I'm so tired of all the nonsense that Joe Average believes he needs to perform a basic task. So I completely get where you are not satisfied with the seemingly endless plethora of choices. Neither am I.
