There were several exciting new Czech PCPs at IWA 2025. The ones I saw were from KalibrGun, Taipan and Epic Airguns.
First up, let’s take a look at the new Cricket III. This is a development of the Cricket II Tactical, which earned a HAM Gold Award on test. Among the changes is a 20MOA droop on the scope mount, together with improvements to the magazine and action. They should make an already good PCP air rifle even better!
By the way, that’s KalbrGun owner Richard Janoušek showing me the Cricket III in our heading photograph above. Thanks Richard!
Richard also told me that there’s to be a chassis version of the Cricket III. This would be a good complement to the Snipe II, which we are discussing in the photograph below.
Of course, the Snipe II in this chassis form was a very recent HAM Gold Award winner. It looks very sharp in the red and black laminate, as you can see.
Next, let’s look at Taipan Airguns. Here the CEO, Marek Dengl, showed me the interesting new Slash semi-automatic PCP.
The Taipan Slash impressed me with the simplicity of its action and elegance of design. It’s available in calibers from .177 right up to .30 cal, with 12 shots in the rotary magazine, whatever the caliber.
Marek explained that Slash will be available in “standard” and “compact” versions. He also explained that this is a “ground up” new design, with no carry-over parts from the previous, successful, range of Veteran models.
The new valve has a patented design. Marek told me that it combines fast opening and closing with low air consumption. Sounds like this should be a big hit in the US market!
The Epic Airguns TWO was another recent HAM Gold Award winning PCP air rifle from the Czech Republic. Below, Epic’s CEO – David Hanusek – shows me the companion, bullpup model. It’s the Epic ONE.
The Epic ONE is available in a wide variety of configurations. That’s all the way from the “traditional” walnut-stocked model above to a chassis version that looked particularly wild in red…
David also showed me a new version of the Epic TWO. This is the LITE model. As you can see below, it has considerably reduced size – and weight too.
Compatible with AR15-fit stocks and pistol grips, it comes with barrel lengths of 550 mm (21.6 Inches) or 300 mm (11.8 Inches), as shown here.
Finally in this review of new Czech PCPs at IWA 2025, there’s a new single shot loader for the Epic ONE…
