I bought the Crosman 3622 a couple of weeks ago, my 1st PCP rifle. My old eyes didn’t like the open sights so I bought some Crosman barrel clamps which allowed me to mount a BSA 3x9x40 scope on it. Sighted it in at 25 yards. I can’t seem to find a pellet that is consistent at that yardage. Yet if I shoot at 10m I can get dime size or smaller groups with almost any pellet. Last night for instance I was shooting Crosman Hollow Points at 10m all shots dime size or less, 40 shots. Aired it back to 2000 psi & shot another 40 shots at 25 yards using the Crosman Hollow Points again this time the groups were silver dollar size are bigger. Every once in a while I can get a tight group at 25 yards. I have shot over 600 rounds through it so far so I would think the barrel is broken in by now.

Checked the crown both visually & using the cotton swab method, looks good. Cleaned it when I 1st got it & have run dry patches through it a couple of times & they never come out what I would call dirty, a little residue but that’s it.

How are others experience with the 3622? BTW mine is stock other than the scope & mounts.

Hello @Gramps-Too , no one has answered you so I thought I would try and help. Have you looked at the HAM review?

Mr. Archer found that the JSB 14.35 shot the best in that particular “tested rifle”.

I’ve always found the HAM articles to give a good benchmark reference point.

@FL22 Thanks for referencing the HAM test review. I must have missed this post somehow or I would have said the same thing.

Thanks for the replies guys, I have read Mr. Archer’s review, the JSB 14.35’s didn’t shoot well in mine at all. I was thinking it liked heavier pellets but them tried the Crosman Hollow Points again 14.3 gr at 10m with nice groups. Then at 25 yards with decent groups. Not as tight as at 10m but not bad. At least the groups were some what consistent. I’m wondering if the scope ring mounts, Crosman 459MTC are causing some sort of strange harmonics. I’d try the steal breach but just not sure I want to invest another $50 in this gun right now.

New gun means break in period ..
Sometimes you got to just shoot to break in the gun, pellets, and the shooter ..lol

Like the gun you just shoot and shoot go over things like screws and what nots , clean it and barrel of factory gunk , so on .

The shooter ... May need to learn best home ld or trigger pulling or like gramps use to say " boy your not holding your mouth right with that thing " ..

Personally guys expect too mush from out of the box new guns .. all mine needed some personal finessing in to get spot on ..

Good luck

It could be the mounts. If so there are other more sturdy mounts available out there. But the steel breech is the best option. There are aluminum breeches also usually a little cheaper. The Crosman mounts can allow a little movement from the weight of the scope. Another option might be a red dot sight. These seem to function well on the Crosman mounts if you see well with the red dot sight. I have astigmatism and the red blurs so I have to use green or blue dot sights. Good shooting!

I may have went down a deep rabbit hole here, I was looking at the barrel spacing between the barrel & the air tube, it was nowhere near the same so I removed the scope & loosened the barrel clamp set screws till the barrel was loose. I the used a 21 thou feeler gauge to get a fairly even gap. I’m going to take the mounts off & shoot with open sights. I’m going to start at 11m then go to 25yds & see what happens.

I can’t shoot with Red dot sights at all I see 2-3 dots, for what ever reason reflex sights do it but not as bad. Usually use the red dot I’ll try the green & see if it’s better for me. I will probably put a steel breach on it in the future but want to get it shooting decent before spending money on it. Airgun Mods makes a plastic breach with dovetails but it’s almost as much as the steel.

You’ve come to the wrong place if you’re trying to avoid airgun rabbit holes lol. Believe me, I know. 👍

Buck rail makes an extended single mount for dot sights that's less than a quarter pounder meal at Macs. The double mount for scopes is just 3 more. Terry makes good product. These have a 4.9 out of 5 rating. Be careful though, his site is addictive, lol.

Buck-Rail- Making it possible to spend 3x what you paid for the base gun.... and you still have things you need to put on!

Ok educate me here, how are the Buck-rail mounts better than the Crosman ones. Couldn’t they both cause harmonics in the barrel?

The Buck Rail mounts are 3D printed from ABS plastic which can be tighten far greater and offer a better grip without marring the barrel. They are self centering and use 2 clamping screws vs aluminum and a single screw for the Crosman mounts. Buck Rail also makes their mounts in two different sizes. The 1377, 1322, 2289 (drifter), and 362 have a different tube size than the 2240 or the other Crosman CO2 pistols. The Crosman mounts only come in one size. There's also the “Extended Single” option for Red Dot Sights.

I use the Buck Rail mounts and accuracy at 25 yards is spot-on. I hope this information helps.

Thanks @Elexious Musick that was good information & the pictures really helped too.

Instead of using the BR scope mounts I decided to get the Airgun Mods 3d printed breach with picatinny rails which uses the stock bolt. While I had it apart I also removed the locktite on the hammer spring screw & sanded the stock with a dremel so it could be adjusted without taking the stock off. The breach went on easily following the video directions for the 1322. The only difference being is you don’t need to remove the bottom screw in the spring cap.
