I’m finally doing a review on a gun that I don’t own (yet). The Crosman 1701P Silhouette. Arriving yesterday via UPS by way of @Airgun Revisions , this pistol came to me degassed, dressed in gorgeous wood grips and topped with a Williams rear sight.

I’m still in the preliminary stages of the review, but the first impressions on the fine piece of craftsmanship are very positive.

I own a Reximex RPA .177 and even though I’m not doing a side by side comparison, this Crosman is in a whole different league than the RPA. Even with very limited shots through the Crosman, I can see the difference in quality and accuracy. This little Crosman is a badass target pistol.

Most of my testing will be at 10M. That’s a 5 shot group after shooting off my Caldwell Tackdriver bag. I’m not a great off hand shooter. And this is about the gun, not about my wobbly sight picture.

To be continued…

Great pistol...but I'm getting a puff of air out the back when I shoot it. Any one experienced this or have any ideas ? Doesn't seem to affect the accuracy so maybe best left alone ? Thanks for any help. Steve

PA - Nice review! They are a great little pistol for target practice. With that accuracy you can practice your off hand shooting!

Saw,
Can you define "out the back"? If the air is coming from the hole in the back of the pressure tube that is nothing to worry about. If it is from the breech/bolt/barrel area, you might want to investigate further as it could be an o-ring problem.

After checking closer, the air is coming out the hole in the back of the pressure tube. Doesn't seem to be any from the bolt\breech area. I won't worry about it, unless a problem should develop. Thanks for the help , I really appreciate it. Steve
