I believe that you pretty much described my Hawke Airmax 30 SF 3 X 16 50 scope. This scope has everything you've described, plus eyeshades and a lifetime warranty. I believe that it's currently listed at just over $500 at Pyramyd Airguns. The clearness of the lens is phenomenal, even in low light. I'm very happy with mine.Orv.i am struggling in finding a scope.
i have looked at the veyron scopes but i am leary of them and they dont seem to offer the parallax wheel either?
i do want something compact but not a must.
weight is a big concern.
i absolutly do not want a scope that uses a battery, but maybe i dont have a choice?
i want FFP. with a parallax adjustment wheel. yes i do want the parallax adjustment wheel.
and i want flip down lens covers.
and i dont want to spend two grand LOL.
AoA sudjested the Athlon Midas TAC but no lens covers and no parallax adusment wheel. i know i could get something aftermarket but not sure i want something 3-D prined and i dont want to spend a 100.00 on one?not to mention where would i find those flip up covers and know i was getting something that would fit and not be getting junck?
maybe i should just look for a differant scope? but again not sure what?
am i expecting to much or just not look deep enough?
thanks guys and gals

@pan60 Its very easy to rattle off names of scopes that I like or have read good things about, but that might prove useless to you without a clue as to what type of shooting you intend to do with your scope. Which type of air rifle would you like to mount it on? Within which range/distances do you intend to shoot? Does illumination matter to you? Which reticle style do you prefer? Do you wear seeing eyeglasses when shooting? Which magnification range(s) are desirable for you? Do you dial turrets or hold using reticle subtentions to compensate for wind and bullet drop?whats the thoughts on compact scopes and is there anything that will focus closer then 10 yards is that about it?
i am looking for a scope that will last and not to heavy i am thinkng the 500.00 ish range.
so far i have been advised that there are much better scopes then the Leapers and been pointed in the direction of MTC the Aztec.
is there any others i should be looking at?
i like the Leapers bug buster but i would like a clearer scope, but if there other scopes arnt up to snuff as the say not since in me spending money then having to spend more later.
my experiance with scopes is confined to the bug buster and a couple old old old cheapy scopes i got on differant gun i have traded for.
thanks pan
@pan60 Which magnification(s) did you order?
@pan60, you do understand that the batteries simply power the illumination. If the batteries died? You would still have a useable recticle. I shot two rats this evening, both would have been passes but for the IR. I like the “option”.
Added weight for IR is overblown, my compact scope with the IR and battery is still shorter and lighter than the Midas’ you have coming...they are the Athlon Midas TAC 4-16x44 SPRS2 FFP MIL i wanted MOA but at this point i am not going to sweet it.
i do, fully, i just dont want anything else around here with batteries and although not much i dont want the added weight.
trying to save every ounse i can
it seems minor but it all adds up.
i think if i was going to be doing more bench shooting weight would not be a issue? probly a plus?
if i had a shop i could walk into and look at scopes i might have a differant view?
online shopping is a blessing and a curs![]()
This one, just remember it’s a compact hunting scope. And cannot compete against the Midas’ in target or bench shooting. It comes with the goodies, I do not use them though. They add weight and bulk to the small scope.@Luis Leon what scope did you say you was using?
maybe something i can look at.
My Hawke 30 is a First Focal Plane 30 mm scope. Orv.Are they first focal plane?
