I just started to give this some thought. Has anyone tried to actually carve a face on the skin of the pumpkin instead of shooting through it? If you figure out where your projectile is at apogee, for my 250z this is 35y, then you should be able to just shoot lines onto the skin. There would be a whole lot of readjusting the pumpkin, that's why I was wondering if anyone has tried it. I am thinking that a cardboard box a little smaller than the pumpkin would be an easy way to hold it in place and continuously turn it so that you would always be shooting a line on the top most part of the pumpkin. I really don't know if this would be a waste of time or not, seeing as I don't think that I've ever seen someone do it this way, and there is usually a good reason for that.
