As you may know, Crosman/Benjamin and BSA are now under the same umbrella. During a meeting with them, I asked to have a new R12 sent over to check out. We don't see many BSA rifles in the USA. They sent me a beautiful R12 XLX in .22 cal. I have not had the time to really put it through all the testing but so far I am enjoying it. All of the fit and finish is fantastic. The side lever is very smooth, and the charging handle spins under your fingers as you cock it. The trigger is light and crisp. The stock is just fantastic!

I only have a 20 or so shots on it, but I have 2 5-shot groups under 1/2" at 50 yards. It is shooting 15.89 JSBs at 880. I attached one of the groups at 30 and 50 as shot on our MegaLink target system.

John, thanks for sharing!

Given your comments and excellent test targets, it's a shame that the R12 is not available for retail sale in the USA.

Some R10's come here, of course, through AoA - HAM reviewed one and loved it. BSA R-10 SE PCP Air Rifle Review - The 2024 Re-Test - Hard Air Magazine

And yes, the Minelli stocks on the R10/12 are in the "love at first sight" category :D

That is what the Marauder should have evolved into by now, albeit with a much more streamlined internal configuration. I almost bought one of these, on looks alone, until I watched sub12airgunners videos on them. It is not for me, because I like to work on my own guns, but a beautiful airgun none the less, and for a bottle gun that's a rarity. You can buy these from Balistas.

The new line from BSA look like killer rifles. It is a shame that we are not able to get the new toys here state side. Are you able to talk to them and ask them why?
Well there's so many that seems USA need not apply . The selection overseas is nice with more to choose from then here .. I think we just get what the rest of the world don't want .. lol .. then a few that's pulled out of the USA market as well..

Like I keep pointing out, we're "freaks" here.
"YOU SPENT HOW MUCH ON A BB GUN?!?!?"
And people won't believe you that a nice springer will shoot tighter groups at 25 yards than their .22 rimfire. Let alone a good PCP.

Very nice rifle and great shooting!

I see alot of talk that its to much money or not enough gun. I have been in and around airguns for 20 plus years. Bsa was the gold standard for many of them. They are still one of the most accurate pellet rifles made. There cold hammer forged barrels are legendary. Will they shoot slugs? Probably not. I would stack up a Bsa against any of todays modern pcps at pellet ranges. I have a Bsa scorpion se 22 tuned for 30 foot pounds that im 110% positive i can hit what ever im aiming at 75 yards and in with an 18 grain jsb. They have better triggers then Fx and daystate. Much lighter and much more crisp and predictable. Dont sleep on Bsa. There springers were some of the best and most sought-after and still are to this day. Again dont sleep on bsa. If you are after a pellet rifle a true pellet rifle bsa are one of the top dogs. I have always wished bsa would make a 30 caliber capable of a minimum of 100 foot pounds of energy. But like daystate, bsa don't cater to the American market, they are more focused on the 12 foot pound market. The Scorpion Se1200 was the last bsa i can remember that took a shot at real FAC power and that rifle was a power house for its day. Am i a little bias when it comes to bsa? Yes 🤣 because they were some of my first higher end guns.

Again dont sleep on bsa they make a quality product.

Hello sir. Just registered this morning here. I agree w/ you on the BSAs. I just received my R10SE from AOA last week. I did a few mags after cleaning the barrel, which was the cleanest barrel I've ever received in an airgun. I then referred back to HAM's tuning video of the R10. I turned the hammer spring in to stop then backed out 5 turns , re-shot the string then another 1/2 turn out. This morning I got 4 mags worth of several 15 & 18(av) pellets w/ air to go before refill. I'm impressed to say the least ! Velocity was spot on to claims along w/ most any ammo working for pest duty to 40yrds. I noticed a rew weeks ago the R12 is on the Gamo USA product list. That is on my bucket list now! BTW, I had to get a rifle case to secure the R10 in (yet affordable) so I picked up a hard case at Harbor Freight , perfect !
