Ghost BRK Ghost Review

Bloomin shotgun pattern. 😯 Consistently off is one thing, but...how wide of a target is that? 2 1/2inch groups @ 100 ain't baaaad, that's a dead starling 6 out of 11 shots? Looks like my brother's 350 magnum .177 groups @ 40/50y. But I have never shot out to 100 yet myself. I say when those new Mrds are back in stock get a tin of each and retest, and of course... post results! 👍😊 Does your ghost refill the plenum pretty quick after each shot? I recall Tec had his reg cranked up and had to wait a few extra seconds for it to refill between shots.
True...but I have a Sehkmet gauge reading PSI on my regulator/plenum...vs the dial gauge reading out in Bar...so when I was seeing the plenum "instantly" drop 50-60 psi ->4 bar, then take several seconds to get back to the starting pressure...I am not sure that would even "register" on the 0-250 bar dial gauge... What do you see your Reg gauge do when you take a shot?

Top middle is ten in a row @ 100 yards from stool and sticks just now.
.20/18.9gr NSA slugs @ 910-915. (The other groups are various distances, mostly poi verification for x yards).

Little bit of head wind coming up, off and on, a friend surmised that's why those couple hit slightly lower.

Moa coin covers or touches 7/10, if centered. Other three are plenty close for high power field target.

And I haven't shared a photo lately, but here it is, sweet as ever.

Very nice shooting as per usual Franklink. Probably even a bit better off the bench right? Question for you are those medium or tall rings you got on your sweet .20 ghost and are they athlon rings as well? Have never owned/shot a .20 but I see its merrits for sure! You guys have me sold on the midas Tac scopes as but I hope to get the 16x power range version. If I can get one sent to Canada is the question! I've been trying...

i had my .30 EVOL yesterday with the Hawke scope on it and it was like looking through a cloud comparped to my .22 EVOL ( with one of mt Athlon scopes ) i had been shooting most of the day yesterday.
i am NOT a fan of the Hawk scope this one is the second one. its okay but that what i would say that about my bugbuster.

Yeah you guys have sold me on them and I want one for my future ghost for sure. Everyone says they compare well to higher end scopes. I emailed PA to see if they can ship scopes to Canada.... I just hope I don't hate my 2 hawke scopes after that😅 oddly enough I like my vantage over my airmax. Will def try the ghost out to 100y to see what it can do but with current MRDs well see!

There are a few dealers in Canada. Off-hand, I can't remember the name of the one in Saskatoon.

Hey buddy welcome to the forum! A Fellow Canadian is always nice. Yeah I thought I scored a deal on optics planet for $510 American for one. Jokes on me. Gonna make the trek out to AGS and play with some scopes for sure before I decide on one I think! I have been through all of Franklink and others reviews, tests of the Ghost. Super exciting stuff!!

FWIW I ended going through several ring heights before settling on 1.29" for the Ghost. 1.10" is workable but too tight for me personally.

Good to know. I have my future pcp and scope mostly figured but not the rings... Most guys here say go medium on the ghost. I refuse to go tall as that would to much imo. Am hoping to make low rings work...

For the sake of continuity.....

Competed with the Ghost in a long range/high power field target match this past weekend.

Summary was that we had 19 shooters, 2 slug, 2 rimfire, and 15 pellet. I used the .20/18.9gr NSA slugs from the Ghost and scored a 41/48. Overall high score was my buddy Steve M. He used an AGT Vulcan 3 and the .25/60grain Altaros slugs for a 44/48. The rest of the field was 39/48 or less.

Can't blame my misses on the gun. I made too many bonehead mistakes like forgetting to return the turret to zero and pulling shots at the trigger break. Had a bunch of fun though. And went 4/4 on the 4 furthest shots (100yards.). Also 3/4 on the offhand shots, man the Ghost is good for offhand shooting!

Here's the long version...

VERY fun! Next match at the end of March.
That is a huge draw for me about the ghost, bring back offhand shooting! Short gun ( my op), good feel, excellent for offhand. Not to heavy not to light. Excellent Ham reviews...Have you outright bought the gun Franklink? Or is it still an extensive review loaner for you?

...Have you outright bought the gun Franklink? Or is it still an extensive review loaner for you?

My first 10 months with the Ghost were covered elsewhere and I shared this over there before HAM community ever existed. The cliff-notes version is the following ...

Airguns of Arizona originally lent me the gun to review, as they've done with a handful of others. The original plan was for a one year, extremely in-depth review of the Ghost. I eventually asked them if I could buy it because I like it so much. Their response was that I could keep it, "payment" being the extensive review. I was ecstatic. So, I guess I fall into the compensated "reviewer" category now. I've always prided myself on sharing the good and bad, so I don't like the optics that I'm being compensated for my opinions. And truthfully, I'm not. Nobody is reviewing what I post and share about the Ghost prior to my doing so. There's no approval process. There's zero outside influence on my Ghost "content." I'm not being paid for my continual posts, and even if I'd have paid for the gun, I'd still be sharing what I share. I truly like the Ghost platform, that's why I've been choosing to compete with it and pest with it and plink with it, when it's the most appropriate gun for the task at hand. And I'm not being compensated to say that, nor to continue saying that.

So in short, nope, I didn't buy it, although it is "mine" now. I was prepared to shell out the cash and would have done so had AOA asked for it back instead of telling me I could keep it.

Ive joked about it being my most expensive airgun, if all the hours I've put into it were converted to a wage. But that's just a joke, I've immensely enjoyed all the time that I've spent with it. Only a couple things in life can make me smile the way an accurate and dependable airgun like the Ghost does.

Your contribution of knowledge of the Ghost has more than earned an example for yourself I would think. Your posts contributed to my purchase of a HP in 22. I doubt I'm alone here. Very pleased with the Ghost. And I appreciate the sharing of your time and experience. Thank you

100% correct I think. He got the gun "for free" but tbh he earned it. And AoA/Brk has some real feedback from someone who has shot it in all aspects (hunting/bench/plinking/etc), took it apart, modded it, tuned it, broke it, made it better, recorded most of it and shared it to all without bias. That's worth money for sure! I am seriously planning to get one myself, hugely in part to the real life reviews and Franklinks write up. I remember first time I saw the ghost I passed by thinking it was ugly and probably an M3 copycat....I was wrong! Funniest thing is I want .22 badly but there is currently no real grt ammo that shoots out of it @ factory settings. Light pellets not really, slugs nope, heavy pellets decent but we know about them mrds.
